Meet Claude Thau

Many people identify Claude as a preeminent LTCi expert; others see him as an actuary. But Claude identifies as a teacher. He taught in the inner city prior to his actuarial career and teaches in all his roles. That background reflects his passion for education, accuracy, and evaluating and mitigating risk for advisors' clients — be they individuals, businesses, or affinity groups — by carefully considering their unique circumstances to pinpoint the best stand-alone LTCi, linked-benefit (e.g., life/LTCi) or other program and design for that particular client. In 2007, he was named one of the 10 Power People in the LTCi industry by Senior Market Advisor. Click the link below to learn more about Claude as well as see consumer testimonials.

Claude's Experience

  • Wholesaling LTCi and other insurance.
  • Helping advisors develop the best strategy and tactics to grow their business.
  • Creating tools to stimulate and identify client interest and proprietary software to help advisors have conclusive LTC planning conversations with clients.
  • Tools that reduce the “ping pong” in employer-sponsored sales.
  • Teaching CE classes to 1000+ brokers (ave. rating: 9.4 out of 10).
  • Running the most-read individual and multi-life LTCi surveys annually since 2005.
  • Consulting for insurers, employers (including the Federal government), regulators, service providers, major consulting firms, etc..
  • Running a major company’s LTCi division. It grew 5 times as fast as the total LTCi industry each of 3 consecutive years (not based on low price or easy underwriting).
  • His critique of a GAO report was independently sent to both the Obama and McCain campaigns in 2008. He was a strong critic of the CLASS Act and published positions on acute health care and Medicaid reform.
  • Pro bono work in LTC, as well as LTCi, including LTC needs in his family and as a DPOA for a friend.
